Metal Gear Online goes from beta to live, coins for everyone
Kept you waiting, huh?
After three long months, Metal Gear Solid V‘s competitive multiplayer component finally isn’t just for console owners anymore. Metal Gear Online extends the Mother Base building component of the single player campaign into a player versus player war between Forward Operating Bases.
The game entered a short beta phase for about a week, initially to avoid the unstable matchmaking of the initial launch on consoles, though it inevitably served to discover an exploit that let players generate in-game currency for free. Now that it’s back, a new promo rewards players who engage in at least one match before January 26 with 3,000 Gear Points — the in-game currency of MGO — which you can use to customize your gear.
