Guillermo del Toro and Hideo Kojima have a DICE keynote

Attendees of the 2016 DICE will be pleased to know that celebrated Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and visionary film maker Guillermo Del Toro will be at the summit.

As previously reported, del Toro will be on hand to induct Kojima into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame. They’ll also be there to share the creative visions and the motivations behind their artistic pursuits.

In a Thursday afternoon keynote entitled, “A Conversation with Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro,” the two will “revisit some of their fondest memories from their own individual careers as well as some of the pivotal moments from each other’s work that remain a constant source of inspiration.”

The session will be moderated by Geoff Keighley. Keighley s a veteran games journalist and presenter and serves as producer of The Game Awards. Last December, Keighley called out Kojima’s former employer, Konami, for barring the designer from attending the The Game Awards ceremony.

After the end of his non-compete deal with Konami, Kojima assembled a new studio. Under the name Kojima Productions, the studio is working on a project for the PS4. The project is part of an exclusive deal with Sony. Kojima and PS4 architect Mark Cerny are touring the world searching for new development tools, including motion capture technology.

The 2016 DICE summit will be held from February 16-18 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
