Blade & Soul Gets Its First Expansion
Two months after the worldwide release, Ncsoft launches the first expansion pack for Blade & Soul, the hit martial arts-themed massively multiplayer role-playing game. While the game itself has been around Asia for three years now, Ncsoft offers new content for the North American and European players.
The Silverfrost Mountains expansion unlocks a new continent complete with new zones to explore, new cities, new quests, and new endgame content, keeping the game fresh and challenging to both old and new players alike. Also, the level cap for each character has been increased to 50 while Hongmoon level has been increased to 10. With each level, players get access to more skill points and new skills. According to the website:
“Continue your story of vengeance as you travel to this vast new landscape within the Earthen Realm. From the verdant Primeval Forests to the icy peaks of Shiverstone Range, your dangerous and violent path of revenge is juxtaposed by beautiful and astounding backdrops.”
Players will get to explore the 6- and 4-member versions of the eight new dungeons, five of which are marked Expert (blue) and three are Heroic (purple). These new dungeons are the Lair of the Frozen Fang, Avalanche Den, and Awakened Necropolis. New additions also include the 24-member open world instances with new bosses for players to kill, server events, and a new world PvP zone. Upon reaching max level, players may squabble over Soulstones and Moonstones in the new faction-only Soulstone mining operation area.
As for other aspects of the game, recent improvements tackle weapon and accessory upgrading and clan crafting. Clans are getting new features upon reaching higher clan levels, with new available potions and custom outfits for their members.
