The Walking Dead: Season 3 debuts 2016
The Walking Dead will debut its third season later this year, announced Telltale.
As the previous season had multiple endings, selecting a canon ending and rendering the other options invalid seems to be out of the question for Telltale.
In an interview with Mashable, Telltale Games CEO Kevin Bruner shares,
“When we got to Season 2, we had a plan in the back of our minds of how we would make all these endings keep those threads going forward.”
Telltale’s third season aims to welcome newcomers while paying respect to all possible threads that occurred during the previous season. According to Telltale, players may now able to carry over their previous choices via cloud saves.
“From a role-playing, interactive storytelling point of view, it is not from the bag of tricks that we’ve ever shown anybody before,” Bruner explains. “We’ve got a strategy to help Season 3 players… collect all their data from the previous games. [W]e didn’t have the cloud services in Season 1 that we have now.”
Telltale’s The Walking Dead is an episodic interactive drama graphic adventure video game series based on Robert Kirkman’s award-winning comic books of the same title. The series gained a lot of popularity due to its brand of storytelling, allowing players to explore the world surrounding the television show and graphic novel.
The first season stars Lee Everett, a university professor and ex-convict who ends up taking care of a little girl named Clementine, teaching her how to survive and sharing his story before the outbreak. The second season allows players to be Clementine as she deals with different groups of people while trying to keep herself alive.
More official details are expected this summer at Comic-Con International. For more information on the game, visit Telltale site for The Walking Dead here.
